In July 2006 Paul Riva and Juliet Kane took over and have entered into village life with enthusiasm, so they are no longer the new Landlords.  

Paul is the grandson of screen goddess Marlene Dietrich and was due to marry Juliet on 4^th September 2006, however due to a technical hitch on his residential status this did not happen as planned.  However, the celebration still went ahead in the Journeys End with the cake being changed to “Almost Married”.  The day was saved for Paul and Jules, as they are known to locals and friends, when the Rev John Elliott suggested an impromptu blessing in All Hallows Church.  Word went out in the village and many came to be witness to this blessing.

Paul and Jules formally tied the knot on 25^th September 2006 in Plymouth.

They have now settled into village life and offer a very warm welcome to locals and visitors alike and have since extended their family with the birth of Lilian Elizabeth on 19th December 2007.
